As you’ll be aware, we are living in a time of rapidly rising energy costs. We need to strike the right balance, so that our guests are comfortable staying in a home from home with us and our owners’ costs are reasonable. This helps us to keep rental levels reasonable too.
When you receive your quote from us, if you are staying with us for a week or longer, you’ll see that there is an energy cost allowance detailed. This is set at a level for reasonable energy use. If the allowance is exceeded, then we will let you know and deduct the excess cost from your refundable damage deposit.
We will ask you to take meter readings (as long as the meters are easily accessible) at the beginning and end of your stay and on a monthly basis if you are staying for longer periods.
Can you please send us photos of your meter readings together with your name and home you are staying in via What’s App to 07704157572.
For peace of mind, the heating is set to be at a comfortable level in our homes. Please avoid changing the controls. The heating is normally set to come on in the morning and evening. If you are staying for four weeks or more and would prefer different settings, please let us know.
We have written a blog about how to keep warm and be mindful of energy use in a home in Scotland. View post here.
Many thanks for your help, we really appreciate it.
