4 of our Most Loved Edinburgh Homes
Guests often give us great feedback about our homes – and in some cases guest after guest lets us know that they absolutely loved the Edinburgh home they stayed in. Those homes then become a Dickins Most Loved Home. Here are 4 homes which our guests rave about.
Nelson Street – bright and contemporary
- sleeps 2
- 1 double
- in the heart of the Georgian New Town
14 Nelson Street is a main door apartment in a very central yet quiet location just off Dundas Street and a short walk from George and Princes Street. Our guests love the contemporary and slightly quirky interiors and the well equipped kitchen. It’s a delightful home away from home.
Cumberland Street – peaceful and comfortable
- sleeps 2
- 1 double
- on a charming Georgian Street in the New Town
40 Cumberland Street is a lovely apartment we get so much great feedback from. This home is full of personal touches and ornaments and furniture that the owner has collected from around the world. The bedroom is quiet and overlooks Cumberland street’s mews lane. This home has been described as a sanctuary by our guests – and we totally agree.
St Stephen Street – charming and homely
- sleeps 3
- 1 double, 1 single
- in the popular Stockbridge area
88 St Stephen Street is a home that our guests absolutely love. The street itself is dotted with lovely independent shops, small restaurants and bars and the Stockbridge market that’s on every Sunday is around the corner. There is a brilliant collection of books that our guests are free to read. Fiona L sums it up nicely: “I loved the comfort, the quiet, the location, the decoration and all those books!”
Scotland Street – elegant and spacious
- sleeps 4
- 2 doubles
- fabulous rooftop views
1 Scotland Street is the place to stay in if you’re a fan of best-selling Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith – but you’ll love it even if you have no clue who that is! Flooded with light, this top floor flat is in a brilliant location and is just such a tranquil home to stay in. Helen K had some wonderful times here: “We were very comfortable here and won’t forget waking up early and seeing the sun rise framed by flowers and the church.”
