Welcome to the Dickins team Claire!
Before Edinburgh went into lockdown, the Dickins team had recently welcomed a new team member, Claire Morcom. Joining us as our Operations Coordinator working alongside the rest of the team to ensure our homes are always in tip top shape for guests. We are excited to welcome her to the team and cannot wait to all be back in the office together!
Here’s a little more about our newest team member…
How long have you lived in Edinburgh?
I have lived in Edinburgh for 28 years now! I briefly moved back to London but after having my daughter, I decided to come back to Edinburgh to settle.
What is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why?
Cramond, I love the views over the firth of forth, the walking trail which goes along the river Almond and being close to the water. It’s a great place to visit on the weekends.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
I am very happy in the present, with my friends and family, but minus the Coronavirus of course!
What is your role at Dickins and how does it compare to what you did previously?
I joined the Dickins team as an Operations Coordinator. It is a bit different from my previous role which mainly dealt with Short Assured Tenancies, while at Dickins we do a lot of short and mid term lets.
After lockdown, where is the first place you would like to visit?
A visit to the pub would be great! And as soon as international travel opens up I will definitely head to Spain, my daughter and I have a favourite small coastal village we love to visit.
What is your favourite restaurant in Edinburgh?
Wahaca. It’s a really tasty Mexican restaurant offering street food style tapas, it’s so popular, you can find locations all over the UK. With a relaxed atmosphere, fun interior decorations and located near St Andrew’s square, it’s a prefect treat.
What is your favourite Dickins home and why?
Leslie Place, I was lucky enough to be a part of the recent redecoration and it is such a lovely home with a good balance of both a traditional and modern feel. Being in Stockbridge is of course a major bonus too, who wouldn’t love a home like this??
Here at Dickins, we love property and homes. What’s your favourite room at home?
My bedroom as it is my sanctuary! My safe, calm place. It affords me a space to get away from all of the stresses of life and relax.
When you have friends and family visit Edinburgh, where is the first place you take them and why?
I’m lucky to have my friends come to Edinburgh when the Festival is on, so we will always walk up the high street and to the meadows. The atmosphere in Edinburgh is amazing at this time and the city is ideal for walking and taking in the sights. You might just have to look past a juggling man on a ladder to see the church spire!
What is your favourite season in Edinburgh and why?
Summer! The warmer weather, brighter and longer days and the energy of the festivals in August just make it a truly magical time to be in the city! With so much going on, it’s easy to get caught up in fun of random shows and activities.
