What The Dickins: A Tale Of Edinburgh City

7 Edinburgh Events Celebrating Burns Night – 2019

The first Burns Supper was held in 1801 by a group of Rabbie’s friends, who had gathered to mark the five-year anniversary of his death. It was then decided that an annual supper would be held in his honour every year, on his birthday. Beginning as a humble celebration among friends, it wasn’t long before Burns Night became a tradition celebrated the world over.

As always there are many great Edinburgh events and activities taking place this Burns Night. If you’d like to join in the celebrations, we have selected a few of our favourites for 2019 to share with you.
