The Nail Yard, Morningside
Morningside is a delightful area of Edinburgh. Leafy and attractive, the area has been called home by some of Edinburgh’s most well-known residents including; Alexander McCall Smith, Ian Rankin, and J.K. Rowling.
It’s time for some pampering…
Upmarket nail boutique, The Nail Yard, is situated in the heart of Morningside and has been pampering the fingers of those in the know since it’s opening earlier this year. In addition to housing six manicure stations on the ground floor, the salon is thinking about creating a private male dedicated area on the first floor. The eco-space is elegant, welcoming and the height of luxury – and we can confirm that the custom made seats are beyond comfortable!
With over 26 years of experience in the beauty industry, owner Kirsty MacCormick is all too aware of the successes and downfalls of many similar ventures.
“The concept of the nail boutique is to provide each client with a unique, luxurious experience, which is respectful to the wellbeing of the individual as well as the environment.”
The Nail Yard uses as few chemicals as possible and strives to use natural ingredients wherever possible, meaning that it is safe for pregnant women in the need of a little pampering. The salon has truly embraced technology, providing guests with ipads to catch up on their reading and a camera which can transform selfies or group pictures into nail art.
What’s so special about it?
The first nail salon to offers Margaret Dabbs’ treatments in Scotland, we can honestly say that we have never had a manicure and pedicure like it.
Margaret Dabbs, celebrity Podiatrist, created a range of foot products to fuse both health and beauty. Margaret set out to source the best raw ingredients that she could find from around the world. She later mixed these in her consulting rooms and created a range of foot products for use in her clinics. The key ingredient, around which the Margaret Dabbs products are based, is Australian organic Emu Oil. Renowned for its incredible healing properties, and aboriginal in origin, Emu Oil has been used medicinally for thousands of years.
The extensive treatment menu at The Nail Yard ensures that everyone is catered for and the personal design mean that treatments are individual and bespoke.
Dressed in dungarees and converse, the casual appearance of staff is not indicative of the quality of treatments (which is incredibly high) and instead reflects the relaxed and modern ambience of the boutique.
