W. Armstrong and Sons is actually Britain’s largest vintage clothes emporium and was established in 1840. If you want a unique find – this is the place. They actually have three shops in the city – at the Grassmarket, Teviot place and Clerk Street. This means three different chances to buy something special. Browsing W. Armstrong and Sons is a must when you come to Edinburgh. The staff are incredibly friendly and know their stuff, so if there is a particular look you want to achieve they can help you find what you need.
Mary’s Living & Giving Shop for Save the Children
Located in fashionable Stockbridge, Mary’s Living & Giving Shop for Save the Children is housed in a former HBOS bank and with cool delis, jewellery stores and coffee houses in the neighbourhood. It’s run entirely by local volunteers and prides itself on having quality products. You will be shocked at the amount of designer attire you can find in here. Herman Brown
Located in West Port Street, Herman Brown is a vintage shops with serious pedigree. Initially the business began trading at market stall and fairs but built up enough budget to start their shop. Unlike many vintage shops, Herman Brown carefully selects its pieces to ensure it has all the best trends and collections. Perfect for vintage aficionados.
Godiva
Also in West Port Street, Godiva prides itself as Edinburgh’s most original independent fashion boutique. This is more than a clothes shop, it is at the heart of the fashion community in Edinburgh. The business boasts a strong ethical ethos and strives to be an alternative to high street fashion. Godiva hand-picks its vintage pieces and also sells products from local designers.
